West Electronics Incorporated (WEI) was chartered and established in 1986 under the laws of the Fort Peck Assiniboine and Sioux Tribes of Poplar, Montana. West Electronics is 100% owned and operated by the Fort Peck Tribes and managed by an independent Board of Directors.

As part of the Fort Peck Tribes’ overall economic and community development strategy, the company’s purpose is to provide employment for Tribal members and generate revenue and profit, while capitalizing on the established management and technical capabilities that have been developed since 1986.

WEI is recognized by the Small Business Administration (SBA) as a tribally-owned Small Disadvantaged Business with Hub Zone designation.

WEI’s current core capabilities include manufacturing labor intense products that require precision craftsmanship, engineering design and development, system integration, program management, and more.

“WEI is certified to ISO-9001:2015 and AS9100D for the manufacture, inspect and test of wire harnesses and similar electronic components and for the manufacture, inspect, test and system integration of liquid products (fuel and water) distribution and storage systems.

Please note that all other products, services and other WEI businesses on our webpage are not included in the ISO-9001:2015 and AS9100D certification.”

In addition, most of WEI’s quality and production staff are certified to IPC-A-610, IPC/WHMA-A-620 and IPC J-STD-001.

The WEI facilities are based on the Fort Peck Indian Reservation in Poplar, Montana.
